We stand alone; You represent,
A second shuffling of genetic decks.
My eyes dark, yours grey-blue,
Our hair and skin of subtly different hues.
Stock-still we stare;
Each caught by the face she knows so well.
Seeing in the other,
The essence of herself.

When I turn my head a certain way and look in the mirror I see your dad, the essence of myself.
I see that in you and my Dad as well. Especially in certain pictures, both from the past and current->like the picture of you guys at Carrabas near Dad’s house.
I love the chalk-on-blackboard image.
I so wish I had a photo image of my sister and me, but I hope my haiku poem
will serve.
A Note To My Kid Sister:
My sister, Estelle
Different gender, same love.
You’d think we were twins.
Luv,
Uncle Marv
I will read Mom your Haiku my next call with her. I know she’ll love it and get “farklempt”, as she likes to say. ❤
